Two years ago, Distingué didn’t exist. There were no labels, no gift shop displays, no website. There was just Monika(Founder of Distingué), her passion for nature, and a kitchen full of experiments. Today, that same vision has grown into a conscious beauty brand with 15+ handcrafted products, stocked in boutiques across Ireland at stores like Maja Nails & Beauty in Dun Laoghaire, and Gift Shop in Butterfly Hair Services, Wexford Town.

But Distingué is more than a brand. It is a story of love, resilience, and craft. A story that began with a mother’s determination to heal her daughter’s sensitive, allergy-prone skin.

From a Daughter’s Struggle to Healing Skincare

“I didn’t start this brand for fame or business,” Monika says. “I started because my daughter’s skin was suffering. I wanted to create something safe and soothing for her and in the process, I found my calling.”

Her daughter’s allergies caused constant itching, rashes, and discomfort. Conventional products, filled with harsh chemicals, only made things worse. Monika, with her background in hospital medicine and sports massage therapy, knew how fragile skin can be and how easily harsh products can cause harm. She turned to nature and began experimenting in her own kitchen, crafting gentle formulas with ingredients that soothe and protect.

Among her early discoveries were Chamomile (Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract), known for its calming, anti-inflammatory properties, and Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia), a botanical that restores balance and promotes healthy skin. Each product she created was more than skincare. It was a promise to her daughter and to anyone with sensitive skin.

Every batch today by Distingué is handcrafted, whether it’s a creamy body butter, a luxurious face mask, or a nourishing soap. Monika carefully balances science, nature and arts ensuring each ingredient serves a purpose and contributes to a gentle, effective formula.

A Brand Rooted in Care

Today, Distingué is entirely run by Monika—a true one-woman band. From sourcing and blending to pouring, packaging, and labeling, she oversees every step of the process herself. Her collection includes soaps, body butters, face creams, beeswax balms, face masks, and hair oils, each crafted with meticulous care. All raw ingredients, including essential oils, are carefully sourced from small villages in Ireland and Slovakia, selected for their quality and purity, and come with full certifications. Every product reflects her unwavering commitment to conscious beauty: safe for the skin, respectful of nature, and handcrafted with love.

For Monika, the journey is just as important as the product. Distingué is proof that even one person, guided by knowledge, dedication, and a love for Science and Arts, can create something meaningful that touches lives.
